Fall 2015 Television Lineup

I like the summer, I really do, but to me, fall is the best. The leaves change colors, fresh apple cider is everywhere and all my favorite television shows come back. Now I'm a HUGE fan of binge watching my favorite show but there is something to be said about the ritual of watching  a show week after week. The intensity of episodes don't get a chance to resonate and cliffhangers just don't land the same way when you binge watch. So despite the case studies that suggest a 20-something no longer wishes to watch live television, I'm looking forward to the fall lineup.

Fall 2015 is bringing back some fan favorites, some old friends, and the possibility of some new classics. NBC's Heroes Reborn is picking up where the 2006 show Heroes left off. This new show stars Zachary Levi and brings back stars from the original show Jack Coleman, Masi Oka, Greg Grunberg, and Mohinder Suresh, among others. Most notably missing from this reboot are Hayden Panettiere, Zachary Quinto, and Milo Ventimiglia. This show is said to be a mini-series but who knows, a longer run of this show may be possible. Either way, I'm looking forward to it! Heroes Reborn premieres September 25, on NBC.

AMC's Fear The Walking Dead is another new show based on an already existing show. Fear The Walking Dead is said to be a companion show to The Walking Dead, which will return in October. The new show takes place in Los Angeles and fills in information The Walking Dead left out about the beginning stages of the zombie apocalypse. I'm personally a fan of The Walking Dead but even I have to ask if we are overdoing the whole zombie theme. That being said, I fully plan on watching the premiere on August 23 on AMC.

Now I'm also looking forward to some old favorites like The Big Bang Theory, Once Upon A Time, The Good Wife and Grey's Anatomy. Now Grey's will come on at the same time as Heroes Reborn and The Big Bang Theory so somehow I'll have to decide which one to watch live and which ones I watch the next day. I have a feeling the decision won't be too hard.

Other shows I'm interested in this season include:

Minority Report (FOX)
The Muppets (ABC)
The Middle (ABC)
Modern Family (ABC)
Empire (FOX)
Jane The Virgin (CW)
Switched At Birth (ABCFamily)

It is also worth mentioning that one of my favorites, The Mindy Project, found a new home this summer. Previously on FOX, the network dropped the show, but thankfully found a new home at Hulu. Hulu and Netflix has become a safe haven for borderline rating shows with strong fandoms. I look forward to the two services ramping up their original programming.
